During Gamescom Opening Night Live 2026, Ubisoft announced a new Rainbow Six Siege spin-off, Rainbow Six Tactics, a turn-based single-player tactical game set in the R6Siege universe.
Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Tactics will feature 15 operators first seen in the ongoing and popular online FPS Rainbow Six Siege. This includes fan favorites like Doc and Ash.
In Tactics, players will take on the role of Rainbow Six Vegas protagonist Paul Bishop. He now leads the team from afar on a series of missions that will span over 45 handcrafted maps and 90+ minutes of cutscenes. The game is being developed by Ubisoft Paris, the studio that previously brought us the Mario + Rabbids tactical games.
Players will build squads using different operators to take on different objectives, including hostage rescue, bomb disposal, and target eliminations. You’ll be able to plan breaches and then trigger all of your moves at once in real time. And just like in the main game, players will be able to break down and blow up walls and doors to take out enemies, unlock new sightlines, open up pathways, and complete missions however they see fit.
R6 Tactics will connect to the ongoing Siege storyline, Ubisoft confirmed, and is set between the events of season 10 and 11. If you care about Siege’s storyline, that will make sense to you. If not, the game looks like it will be a fun X-Com-like tactical turn-based experience even for folks not familiar with the franchise.
Ubisoft confirmed with IGN that there will be no in-game store or microtransactions. Rainbow Six Tactics will launch on PC, Xbox, and PS5 in 2027. It will cost $50.
