One person was, at least. There was an instance of a person trying to do a grab-and-dash who got stabbed by the guy he was trying to rob. Still, knife vs. gun is even more likely to result in someone getting shot, because now the gunman is freaked out and feeling threatened.

The really amazing thing about how stuff like this goes down is that people who face down the would-be-robbers and manage to disarm them, scare them off, or thwart them in some other manner are always praised as heroes. Fail to win out, and suddenly you're a moron. Cops who go to work every day knowing that it's their job to do this on our behalf, they're heroes. Anyone else is a putz. Just some are lucky putzes and others aren't so much.

Its funny...by the time Wii lauch day came and went, I had 2 consoles (passed on a third) and all the games and controllers me and my crew needed.

It took a LOT of work, getting in line HELLA EARLY for a preorder weeks ago, and 36 hours without sleep and over 150 miles of driving on launch day, with a coordinated 3 man effort.

These eBay people? They did way more, some of it a bit morally ambiguous, but they put in the hours, called in the favors and did what they had to do to get the job done.

And unless they commited a crime in doing so, none of them deserve to get robbed, beat up or shot for going the extra mile. What kind of work ethic do you people have, anyway? You want to punish people for doing more than YOU did to get something you "claim" to have wanted...but weren't willing to pull out all of the stops to get?

Now he's soaking up his 15 minutes of fame for showing his true colors as a money grubber. Seriously, scalping systems isn't really that bad until you place the all mighty dollar over your own life.

I have little to no sympathy for him. Had he come prepared and given in to the demands and shown the guys that it's not worth the time or effort to steal a debit/ credit card. He would have still been able to call the police and got those guys arrested.

What pains me is the fact that he now gets a PS3 as reward for doing the wrong thing in a sitation like that. I know it's probably one of those "well give you a free PS3 if you don't sue us for getting shot on our property" type of deal.
