The wide world of "eSports" is coming to a television near you. CBS and the World Series of Video Games have announced that they've partnered to bring four hour-long recaps of WSVG events to television airwaves starting this summer. Competitive gamers will challenge eachother in titles such as World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade, Guitar Hero II and Fight Night Round 3, among others.

Fight Night Round 3 hits the Playstation 3 on Dec. 12, EA Sports announced today. Besides updated graphics, the PS3 version of the game will include a new Get in the Ring, first-person mode.

I haven't played a boxing game since I picked up a used copy of Super Punch Out!! a few years back (James "Buster" Douglas Knockout Boxing touched me in a bad way), but I'm seriously considering investing in a $60 copy of Fight Night Round 3 for the PlayStation 3. It has awakened the bloodthirsty graphics whore within, plus, the first person boxing mode just sounds bad ass.

Gamespot's most recent batch of screens for EA's upcoming pugilistic playable highlight one of the side effects of massive amounts of in-game advertising — another appearance of the Burger King! Not that I don't love the King, he's quite welcome. And the surreal nature of his character is a nice addition to the very staid
Fight Night franchise, but I can't say I'm such a fan of the trend.
