      • ydmos commented on Obama gives no shout-out to webhead supporters

"If anything, Obama/Biden are more likely to impede the Net Neutrality cause than to help it, so you're better off just having them not get too involved."

      • ydmos commented on Microsoft's new Google killer is a photo site that doesn't work

"@Nicholas Carlson: Nothing personal, you write some awesome stuff from time to time -- but I'm going to chalk this one up as 'epic fail' :)"

      • ydmos commented on Comcast backs away from 20-minute delay

""If there was competition, could you slow down your best customers?" The question is predicated on the (false) assumption that the top bandwidth users are an ISP's "best customers", when most of us are well aware that using the bandwidth you pay for makes you, in fact, a terrible customer in the eyes of your cable ISP."

      • ydmos commented on Microsoft's new Google killer is a photo site that doesn't work

"Photosynth is a search engine? Nowhere on the FT article does it describe Photosynth in terms of 'search'. From my quick perusing of www.phootsynth.com as well as www.livelabs.com/photosynth/ it doesn't even describe *itself* as 'search', by any stretch of the imagination. I suspect the small, markedly out-of-the-way search box on the front page is intended to search among the submissions to the site, rather than searching the web."

      • ydmos commented on How to crack YouTube's Olympics channel

"@ydmos: of course, it never occurred to me to read the part of the article that says I had to be on youtube's website!"

      • ydmos commented on How to crack YouTube's Olympics channel

"You may have to do that entire process while at youtube.com -- I couldn't get Firefox 3.0.1 to load the cookie if I ran it from this valleywag page (it'd just not get written at all, and get replaced by a new cookie when I visited youtube's site). Otherwise, it seems to work great."

      • ydmos commented on Behold the $999.99 do-nothing iPhone App; buy it because you can

"The only difference between this and the Phillipe watch is that anyone can replicate this in a few minutes for $0. Find a way to add that same exclusivity, plus maybe a way to show it off easily, and it'll actually sell."
