"@Doomstink: The disturbing part is that they filed it in 2000, 6 *years* after they first came up with the concept, and by that time, others had already come onto the market. The US does use a "first-to-invent" system (see: [en.wikipedia.org]), but I don't know if the "prior art" would be prior to conception, or prior to filing. Worlds.com did release working uses of this patent, but they didn't file it for 4-5 years after release, according to your dates. IANAL, but this seems an uncertain at least, if not shaky, situation for this patent."
