I tried to reply to your post on the Wii lens cleaner article, but my school's computers don't allow me to comment on the new gawker format.

Anyways, I read your comment about your Wii having problems reading discs. Well if the drive still spins the discs and the Wii still does everything else fine but just can't READ the disc then I'd reccomend buying a new lens (you can get them pretty cheap from computer expos) that can read dual-layer discs and replacing the one in your Wii currently.

I mean, your warranty is up anyways right? And the cost of getting it repaired is more than the cost of the console itself right? So why not give it a go? Just make sure to put everything back the way you found it.

Oh and if you want a less DIY method. Find a retailer you hate (think Walmart); buy a Wii from there. Peel off your Wii's and the new Wii's serial numbers and exchange them, then return your old Wii with the box, reciept and serial number of the new Wii (this is all a formality, more than likely they don't check anyways) and celebrate that you have a brand new Wii for no cost at all (except the gas money you send driving to the store and back).

I'll get you added to my PSN list, I actually have SCIV on 360 and PS3, but I only got a fighting stick for the 360. Luckily, the sixaxis isn't too bad, so PSN is doable
