Microsoft tells the BBC that it's taking steps to make the Xbox 360 as hack-proof as possible. "One of the reasons we went with custom hardware design for all our silicon is that it allows us to build security at the silicon level," says Chris Satchell from the Xbox Advanced Technology Group.
Now, to me, that just sounds like an open audition to have the Xbox 360 hacked in hours after release. It took less than a week to hack the PSP a dozen ways. When the PlayStation 2 was released mod chips were on the street in a month. And the original Xbox — well, it can be made to run Linux. 'Nuff said.
So anyone wanna make a bet that it will take seven days or less before the Xbox 360 is hacked in a way that will piss off Microsoft?
