Uwe Boll, reaper of video game souls and destroyer of gaming's Hollywood hopes, has cast his jaundiced eye on none other than Metal Gear Solid. The Boll said in a recent interview that he knows Konami paid someone to write a script from the game and the he "absolutely" want to make it into the movie. Somewhere in Konami, people are crying.
Oh Dear God No
Uwe Boll Strikes Again? [Idle Thumbs]

Oh no. Oh hell no! Is it too late to form some secretive, shadow organization to prevent deserving game licenses from falling into the hands of the Uwe Boll/Paul W.S. Andersons of the world?
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! There's no way Kojima would allow this. He had a far better, higher profile director than Eww doing the cutscenes of the GC remake: Ryuhei Kitamura. His Versus was amazing, and the guy was good enough in Japan to direct Godzilla: Final Wars. They should bring him in for the movie. Maybe Kojima would direct it himself, he's hinted at wanting to direct a movie for a long time (not to mention that on MGS3 Subsistence there is a DVD with MGS3 cut into a movie). Konami's Silent Hill movie seems like it might be the first good video-game movie as well. There's no way they'd give this to the likes of HIM... No... no way... no way... (I need to just keep telling myself this...)
i second you plan fallengorn, i know some guy who can get us all the weapons and equipment we may need... Mr Boll is going to far, now its personal!! Dont worry my friends, Konami is a smart company, you know, they DO think, not like some people who likes to run with scissors... Boll wanted to make the Silent Hill Movie, konami said "Ie!!! Baka Gaijin!!!" or something like that, and gave the movie to Gans & Co.
lol, I love MGS But I love watching fanboys cry when thier precious IP is sold off to the likes of somone like Uwe Boll. Seriously people even in the minute possibility he does get it and makes a movie who the hell cares. Nobody forces you to see it....
Sorry to say this Ewe, but it's time to either admit that you've ruined enough games and give up, or face having a Cyborg Ninja come round your house and slitting your throat.
Zoglog, the reason people care is because the movie could be so good if made properly. Anyway, echoing the comments of my friend ytdb up there, I'm pretty sure Kojima would never let this happen. I'm hoping he either gets a great director or just does it himself...
I dont care if you kill Boll or you kill me, just make sure you kill one of us.
There is no way Kojima will have Mr. Boll even touch MG franchise.
Boll is a wucking fanker.
I swear if that dude touches that movie....(no comment) I highly hope this doesn't happen. And to Zoglog this isn't about some fanboy getting mad, the whole MGS series has an excellent story behind it and to see someone like that slaughter up this movie just for a quick buck isn't right. This isn't like the HALO movie where the story line wont even be half as great because its a FPS game, so there would be no good storyline for the movie. The MGS games are all like movies in themselves and are very deep. I recently read an interview about David Hayter the voice of Solid Snake for the MGS series also screen writter of (xmen and x-2 and director of the upcoming marvel comic movie black widow) and he said that he might direct it because he already knows about the whole MGS universe. Christian Bale also said in an interview that he's working in the movie and will be solid snake and we all know that big actors dont do movies with UWE BOLL he's gets people like Burt Reynolds.
I refer to my previous statement that nobody is forcing you to watch it =p. Will the release of this movie suddenly change the content in the games you love so much =p? No.... It's the owner of the IP's decision who they want to license it out to not the fanboys. Once again I see nothing wrong with it.
Please, no. Who should handle the Metal Gear movie? Square.
My question is what do we want to see in movie adaptations of our games? I wonder if we all wrote a script if it would even be the same - maybe we could even sell it to Uwe Boll. From a female perspective which seems lacking here, I think I could offer something more witty than wucking fanker commentary by the brillian Mr. Bugle.
