News site GamesIndustry.biz reports that UK retailers are saying the 360 bundled with the HD-DVD extra will be cheaper than Sony's PS3. (But hey, some used cars are cheaper than the PS3.) The HD-DVD player is the next-generation DVD standard being pushed by Japanese electronics giant Toshiba and is competing against Sony's powerful Blu-Ray. The success of the PS3 hinges on Blu-Ray beating HD-DVD. If the format fizzles, it could mean curtains for Sony's game console. If not, it could mean truck loads of cash.
