This past Saturday, Nintendo put its "art games" on display in Tokyo. Sixty Game Boy Micros were set up in Shibuya Parco's basement, demoing new "Bit Generations" titles. Simple puzzle games rich in color and sound, the games included Dotstream, Boundish, Dialhex, Coloris, Digidrive and Orbital. These neat titles and this slick set-up seems geared to kick some life into sagging Micro sales. (Probably wasn't a good idea to set up another display with the still selling-out DS Lite, though.) The games are going to be released sometime this year, while Part 1 of this exhibition will continue only until May 15, 2006. Definitely worth checking out.

I want to know more about these "Bit Generation" titles. They seem like slick little GBA titles, which might be exactly what the GBA needs to revitalize sales. Hell, I'd buy if they were interesting enough concept games. I'm practically sold on their logos alone. Any more info on these titles, Brian? -sj
From the descriptions in the pics above... Dotstream is a colorful line race-type game, Boundish is a Pong-type tennis title, Dialhex is a puzzle/sound game, Coloris is a puzzle game based on color gradiation and sound, Digidrive is an arty puzzle game in which corresponding marks are arranged and Orbital is an action puzzle game in which gavity and celestial bodies are used. There's another game called Soundvoyager as well, based on, well, sound. For my money, Coloris and Orbital sound the most interesting. The others venture into mehsville.
art?!?! haha more like advertising
