An eagle-eyed GoNintendo reader spotted a new listing for Resident Evil 4 this morning on retailer Gamestop's web site. With the name Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition, there's little confusion about what platform for which the game is intended. According to the Gamestop listing, which has since been removed, the game is scheduled to ship on June 25th for $29.99.
When we contacted Capcom they neither confirmed nor denied the existence of the Wii version, simply affirming that "Capcom has not made any announcements about a new Resident Evil title."
A RE4 remake with Wii controls would be interesting, but I'm not sure I'll buy the game again at this point. We'll surely know more about the existence of a Wii version of Resident Evil 4 following Capcom's upcoming Gamers Day on April 12th.
