And one intrepid reader saves me and my all-consuming punctuation pet peeve a bright, shiny bullet:
After your post about Ashcraft's use of PLAYSTATION instead of Playstation I slowly began to lose my mind. I hadn't noticed it before, but now I couldn't un-notice. PLAYSTATION was every-fucking-where. To solve this problem, I modified a Greasemonkey script to replace every occurrence of 'PLAYSTATION' with 'Playstation'. I posted it to Userscripts.org:http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/5429
It works great. All is right with the world again. Now I am going to
make a version that will replace Crecente's posts with ones that don't
read like they were written by a robot.
I can't comment on that last one, because Crecente's my boss, and more importantly, he's got to okay 1000 euros worth of expenses this afternoon for my trip to Leipzig. But if you manage to write that one, that's probably a good first step towards aceing the Turing Test.

We used Greasemonkey at work to screw sith a co-worker where we would change links to bad sites, change images, and change certain words. It took him forever to figure it out, hehe.
its PLAYSTATION deal with it people
Erm. If you want to continue to open that can of Wyrms there CoMus, then by all means do. I think the chimp with a gun to its head speaks for all the rest of us.
@CoMus:
Since I installed the script... I don't know if you're agreeing or disagreeing with the capitalization. :P
Ahhh, technology. The cause of -and solution to- all of life's problems:)
I thought that was beer.
I think I'm going to write a Firefox plugin to do something similar. Plus it will put the word playstation entirely into lower case just to piss Sony off!
You know there's alway a way to get around these scripts. Soon, Sony will trademark P L A Y S T A T I O N 3, P L 4 Y S T 4 T 1 0 N 3, and PLAYSTATION III.
Yes, but whatever happened to PlayStation? THE PLOT THICKS.
Can someone make a script that replaces 'wii' with 'Revolution'?
As Sony uses it, it's 'PlayStation' (caps on 'P' and 'S'), they only - normally - use "PLAYSTATION" (upper case) in all caped headlines or titles where the main PlayStation logo in proper form is also shown.
[For my hopefully successful first post, I've replaced the requested 'witty comment' with anal retentiveness (it's quite possible I've got something stuck⦠oh never mind)]
Looking at the PlayStation site, I was wrong; they are actually using all caps for PS3. So much for my anal retentiveness. The caped P and S was just ingrained in my, err... mind.
