Game site Kikizo points out that the PLAYSTATION 3's official slogan in Europe is "This is Living." In a clip screened last week in Leipzig, the PS3 console disintegrates into thousands of black particles and then reforming into fat font above. The slogan then beats like a heart. Ah, this calls for a poll!
More Here [Kikizo] Thanks, Kyle!

What the fuck.
*crying*
I'm all lol'ed out.
I was going to write the same thing Gauger wrote so yeah errr...whatever.
Shouldn't there be a question mark at the end?
lol mansteak.
Aaawww yes. Fun times.
I'm utterly convinced everything to do with the PS3 is just a big conspirational joke on Sony's part and they're really developing something super-awesome that they'll surprise us with in November that will totally blow our minds. Because this shit is just too pathetic for words.
um what.
No, no question mark. It wasn't a question.
I second Werk's opinion, this is just silly! Expect the worst and that won't dissapoint you.
I'm confused...
Is this emphatically trying to convince us that 'this' is in fact 'living', or is it indicating that 'living' is what 'this' is?
"This is the whimpering sound a dying giant makes."
It's sad that Sony has to resort to this Martha Stewartesque marketing.... hey... I wonder if the PS3 will ship with a free poncho...
It's swanky. And not in a good way.
Isn't that already taken by a company that sells douche?
Why isn't it in the Spiderman font?
Will Spiderman 3 be called SPIDERMAN 3?
You won't be living much longer when you spend all of your food and rent money on a PS3.
I have less of a problem with the slogan than I do with the font. What the fuck is right.
It's like they got Ben and Jerry or the Grateful Dead onto the marketing team. Nice.
better than Jump In. Don't get why they dont just stick with "Live in your world, Play in ours"
It's not that bad. Nothing special, but not disasterous.
Of course, if it had been Nintendo who'd unleashed this, everyone would be fapping over how brilliant is is.
PLAYSTATION 3:
This is living ( in the hamptons).
This is Living ( Don't go outside.)
This is Living. ( In jail - now open your wallet and bend the fark over!)
This is Living - in 4D!
They must have cropped the photo wrong... it should read:
Life's a bitch
This is living
first 360. then wii. now this.
Isn't that already taken by a company that sells douche?
Winner!
... Why in the hell was the first thing that popped into my mind when I saw that font... major league baseball? o.0
Oh wow Kionae, I was just going to say that this font looks like it belongs on a baseball hat or jersey! First thing I thought too.
And no, even if Nintendo had produced this abomination I would still be thinking of baseball.
At least Nintendo chose a font that looks clean and is easily readable, I rather enjoy the Wii font.
Sony could have chosen a number of fonts from this page.
"At least Nintendo chose a font that looks clean and is easily readable, I rather enjoy the Wii font."
You mean the copied Mac font they use?
That's odd, they seem to have forgotten to include the word "Hell" after "living".
Does this mean they'll hunt you down and eat your heart if you don't buy a PS3?
Honestly, what's with the font? It's very 1950's Vacuum Cleaner Salesman...
Thanks a million! (push start to replay!)
This shit just writes it self, eh kotaku. Seriously, you could compile a freaking novel on the sony "blunders" from the past year. It would prolly make for a decent read too. Something like:
"Marketing sinkholes: What not to do"
Oops, i thought this was asking what i thought of the PS3... not the slogan... oops my bad.
and if you squint, you can picture the word "wii" in there somewhere
Scazza, I would LOVE to read a book chronicling Sony's 2005-06 history.
I'm simply stunned at how bad this slogan is. It's cheap-looking (perhaps that's the point?), it doesn't say ANYTHING at all, and it doesn't even do it's job of making you curious about it. What the hell is this? Amateur night? Utterly pointless.
From a design POV, that's a HORRIBLE font.
I like it actually.
Remember that we haven`t seen the whole marketing campaign yet.
It could (possibly) be the greatest marketing campaign ever, and the slogan being really funny when conidered in a bigger context.
shouldnt xbox make theirs 'we were there first'
and nintendos now should follow sonys innovation and use the slogan for the wiimote
'wanking since 2006'
Think of all the money they spent to come up with that pant load. People's saleries, focus groups, all the other slogans that they thought were not as good as this one. Think about it; if this was the best they could come up with, what did the slogans that did not make the grade say?
"SONY- four letters, just like shit"
in this claim "living"⦠living means "hey, invest in the future blu-ray". i bet it needs up to 2009, to make this media so popular, that the people will use it and want to buy it for a acceptable price (movies etc). what will be the next motto for PS4: "Your Whole Life On Our Database-Server"? the PS4 official from sony: has no optical drive, all media through networking. why wait for the blu-ray, when you can have "HDâ¦"-streams online in 2012? this means, the blu-ray is the yesterday of tomotrrow. i will not use it - please sony, stop this crap.
Oh EnigmaNemesis, your wiley anti-Wii comments at the drop of a hat are priceless. Good times, good times..
"This is Living... without a wallet"
I also could have sworn I saw this slogan or heard it at the end of a herpes medicine commercial.
one word: bullshit
Seriously it just looks like a cheap-ass job that doesn't resemble ANY of their recent campaigns. Oh, and the 3 looks like an inverted C with a ' on it
@enigmanemesis
The copied mac font? You mean the one they use for all their marketing, Myriad Pro? Cause that font ships with all Macs.
I'm not particularly sold on the authenticity, but I do enjoy the possibility. It's something different, if not unexpected, and it doesn't require two or three paragraphs explaining why you should like it.
Wasn't this the "weight watchers" slogan in the early 90s?
Does anyone else find it ironic that it's the same font as Porky Pigs famous "That's all folks!" that ends Looney Tunes cartoons? "That's all folks"... that sounds about right... :)
