I wouldn't call it a marriage of convenience. With his sophisticated software and their sexy hardware, both Hideo Kojima and Sony seemed a perfect fit. That's all changed with Kojima forming his own 100 person strong company, Kojima Productions and with Microsoft proving itself to be a worthy competitor. Earlier this month at the Xbox Lounge opening, Kojima was one of the few big name Japanese designers on hand. And now in what could be a PR nightmare, Kojima's saying that the 360 can run real-time PS3 games. And he should know. That doesn't mean we'll be able to slip a 360 disc into a PS3 machine, but that the next-gen Xbox can go head-to-head with PS3 for power. Without any playable PS3 demos to compare, these kinda comments can't help. Sony's execs must be pissed.
