Yesterday we reported on the Wal-Mart PS3 launch fiasco where one man was knocked face-first into a flagpole. Today we have a video by the local television station, which tracked down the man who smacked into the pole and had his jaw dislocated.
The man claims that as he and other line-waiters ran for a chance at the PS3, at the bequest of Wal-Mart, someone deliberately pushed him into the pole, face first.
Watching the video, it sort of looks like he just got accidentally bumped into the pole. The bumper/pusher ended up making the list for a console and then lawyered up.
Way to go Wal-Mart, maybe with the Wii launch you could just hand out bats and give out consoles to whoever is left standing.

That was really stupid on the part of Wal-Mart though. I think it would be a suit against Wal-Mart that this guy could win.
This guy is totally going to sue Wal-Mart. I say more power to him - I just hope it leads to better plans for launches of this type in the future.

Wal-Mart will probably be on the hook for this, but can you imagine running like an idiot to buy a $600 toy, running into a flagpole and killing yourself, then blaming someone else?
Fire the manager who had them race, Wal-Mart headquarters puts it all on him, no blame on the corporation. Damage control. That's what I'd do.
As for this guy? Seems to be talking pretty damn well for having a dislocated jaw. Quit your whining, you wouldn't feel shit about the other guy if you'd pushed him into the flagpole.

I sure hope someone thinks to sue them. This type of stampeding is ridiculous and deadly. They're lucky no one died. I think in the coming years we'll see something change. People are too lawless in this country and eventually people will die for stupid things like this. This guy got his jaw dislocated and in a few months we'll all be able to walk in and buy this thing...DUMB ASS AMERICAN CONSUMER! Hey...I've got one and you can give me $5000 for it..LOL...LOSERS!

Also, having both dislocated and broken my jaw so many times it's permanently disjointed, you can still talk. Like a retard, but it works.
Why do people want this console so bad right now? I'm planning on getting a PS3, but what games on it are so great that the console needs to be picked up at launch? I think Wal-Mart and other stores need to start giving out raffle tickets. Having the people line up and run to get in the ten coveted slots? I'm surprised a guy hitting flagpole is the worst thing that happened.

It's pretty simple.. eBay. This chump in the video was probably going to do the same thing, spend $600 and make four times that probably. The greed flag-pole gets ya every time!
SpikeTV should have commissioned a special one-time episode return of American Gladiators set in the parking lot of one of these Wal Marts. Race? Sure, there will be a race, while Gladiators fire tennis balls at you from cannons. Then you'll have to go one on one with them using pugil sticks, scale a rock wall while a Gladiator tries to pull you off, and then work your way through a maze that has numerous Gladiators lurking within.
All to get a raffle ticket. MUHAHAHAHA!

He should be happy. Now he gets to sue wal-mart and/or the guy who pushed him and make MUCH more money than he would have by selling his PS3 on eBay.
