Rockstar shot Maxim Online a list of a half-dozen things to look out for in their upcoming Playstation Portable title: Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories. The list isn't that exciting, but it does have some interesting details like the fact that a transexual plays a major role in the game.
1. Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories is set two years prior to the events in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. That's important, because there is a ferris wheel in the latest version. Wonder what happens to that? Also, several of the landmarks from that game such as the Malibu Club and Tommy Vercetti's hotel are not featured.
2. Progress far enough, and the Hyman Memorial Stadium is open for business. Some of the biggest names in music play this venue when they come through town.
3. If you are killed or captured, your weapons are available at both the hospital or police station you respawn at, for the right price.
4. Vic Vance is the prodigal son. A former soldier, Vic is just trying to carve out a life for himself in Vice City when his brother, Lance, returns. Lance may have his famous "Lance Vance Dance," but Vic has all the right genes.
5. The water doesn't just surround Vice City, but it is an integral part of the game. Expanded water physics, new and varied types of vehicles, and mission structure all combine to add a new dimension to the physical surroundings of Vice City. When does this come into play? Try evading a gunman firing at you from a helicopter as you escape on a jet ski.
6. Not counting any Metroid-style reveal, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories features the first transsexual in videogame history. S/he's a big portion of the game, so be on the lookout.

#6 sounds a little scary...
oh goodness....I hope #2 isnt a play on words...
Perhaps "Vic" is short for "Victoria"?
I'm curious about the ferris wheel. Like maybe it got turned into something else in Vice City? I am very tempted to pop in VC right now and look around for anything vaguely ferris wheel shaped.
I reckon #6 is the DJ on the Flashback station from Liberty City Stories.
"Vice City Stories features the first transsexual in videogame history"
im nearly sure they was a transsexual in one of the leisure suit larry games (possibly the last one)
There was a transsexual in SMB2 in the form of Birdo.
In response to 6:
Not counting Sephiroth? Or any other Final Fantasy character, for that matter.
Enchated Arms has a trannie, too. It's listed in the manual.
What about Tekken's Kunimitsu?
First? I don't think so. Scarface has a mission where you have to kick several people in the groin, in order to find the tranny. IIRC, the mission is called "Baggage Check".
There were transexuals in Mother 3.
Maybe is not a transsexual by definition... but Bridget, from the Guilty Gear series is actually a boy raised and clothed as a girl. I know a lot of friends that found Bridget pretty attractive...until they knew she was a he.
But maybe a guy from the game is going to fall in love with a girl...and when they are getting some "Hot Coffee" he will realize that she is coming with an extra package. Kind of "It's something about Miriam"
I'd count Birdo as a tranny. In SMB2 the character was described as a male dressing up like a female. Now in all the Mario games Birdo is a female.
#3 sounds like a great improvement to the series. I can't remember how many times I'd reload a saved game simply because it was IMPOSSIBLE to complete a mission without the huge pile of armaments I'd amassed.
Birdo's a weird one, and in her first appearance in Doki Doki Panic she was still a girl. The manual for SMB2 was probably a result of Nintendo trying to convince parents that there was no violence against women in its games. Since it opened up a whole new bag of questions, they've since changed it for subsequent releases.
