Engineer Goes PS3 Hands-On, Japan Showing Canceled?

engineer.jpgRumors abound about the meeting that was supposed to take place in Japan over the weekend. It sounds like there is a possibility that the meeting may have been canceled. At least one source tells me that some of the guys who were set to go ended up not going after all. Did they cancel the trip because they were too busy, or because the whole show isn't happening? No clue.

On the bright side, I got word from an engineer type who had a chance to go hands on with the PS3 recently in Japan. He says that it knocked his shoes off. Unfortunately, being a hardcore engineer, he was completely oblivious to things like what it looked like and what cool features it has. I do think he wants to marry it's pretty, pretty architecture and loves the amped-up processing. From his brief note, it sounds like he thinks it will be significantly more powerful than the Xbox 360, but we all know processing power alone does not spell gaming dominance.
