Rumor has it that Electronic Arts is about to drop the bomb on a ton of employees. My network of tipsters is telling me that EA plans to announce big layoffs today and that the mass firings will be the first step in a move from Cali to sunny Florida.
Word has it that good ol Jeb Bush has relaxed some of the already sweat-shop like labor laws of the Sunshine state to attract the world's largest game publisher to move their HQ to the state. I would assume if they did go they would land squarely in Orlando with Tiburon. Apparently, EA has already started showing off their EALA office to potential lessees.
Didn't I warn you this was going to happen after EA's employees rose up and threatened a class action lawsuit against the richer than God company? I suppose when the execs promised changes for the better, they meant for them.
Send word, send emails, God, send memos if this is confirmed. Can't let the Man keep breaking the back of their talent without telling the world.
Still no word on whether this is true or just hysteria.
Update: EA LA head says Wednesday's meeting is about Spore.
